ODVN offers on-site and telephone consultation to domestic violence service
providers and allied professionals. In addition, ODVN assists communities
in developing coordinated community responses to domestic violence and
sponsors issue specific networking caucuses, such as legal advocacy and
women of color.

Program Development
Program Design and Development
Want to know the best practices for developing a particular program or
service? Want to design new, revised, or expanded programs? Call the Technical
Assistance Coordinator to receive training manuals, program designs, telephone
and on-site technical assistance to help your organization deliver quality
services to clients and the community. Or, develop new programming related
to survivors of domestic violence.
Program Records
Client charts a mess? Not sure what the best practice is for clinical
record keeping? Technical assistance is available to help programs design
quality record systems, including development of agency policies on record
and training programs to implement them.
Quality Improvement Plans
Having trouble obtaining consistency and a good level of service? Is your
staff experiencing difficulty strategizing ways to complete paperwork
and provide service in an effective manner? The Technical Assistance Coordinator
is available to help your staff become more knowledgeable and proficient
about quality issues or to help you develop a quality improvement committee
at your program.
Outcome and Evaluation
Funders requesting outcome studies but not sure how to develop these?
The Technical Assistance Coordinator will work with agency staff to develop
realistic evaluation plans and methods to implement these.
Staff Retreats
Does your staff need an energizer or retreat but everyone’s too
busy or too tired to plan one? Technical assistance is available to help
the organization plan and develop staff retreats that meet the needs of
each organization. Staff are also available to facilitate these.

Advocacy and Intervention
Could your staff use a higher level of advocacy and intervention skills?
Do your staff, volunteers, or board need guidance in working with person
who is battered and their children? The Technical Assistance Coordinator
has expertise in advanced intervention skills, which are grounded in the
core principles of the Domestic Violence Movement. Additional expertise
is available related to providing outreach to underserved populations.

Research and Information Gathering
Have questions or need information about topics in domestic violence,
general or specific? Need information to develop a manual or training
for your staff, board, or volunteers? Want to know what are the emerging
issues in domestic violence? Call the Technical Assistance Coordinator
who can provide answers to questions, research issues, and supply materials
on a variety of topics, including promising practices in service delivery
to survivors of domestic violence.

Coordinated Community Response
Need some help developing a local domestic violence task force or coordinating
council? Staff are available to help your organization develop strategies,
training programs, or other methods to improve the coordinated community
response.

Board of Trustees Development
Strategic Planning
Need to develop a strategic plan for your organization or update your
latest plan? The Technical Assistance Coordinator will work with you to
develop a structure and format for your Board of Trustees and staff to
develop a strategic plan to guide the organization in the next few years.
The Technical Assistance Coordinator will also come on-site to serve as
a facilitator for plan development.
Board Development
Having trouble obtaining a quorum? Does your Board of Trustees seem to
lack motivation and enthusiasm? The Technical Assistance Coordinator will
work with your organization to develop a Board Retreat or help plan a
strategy for Board development. Staff is also available to facilitate
