Domestic Violence in Later Life

The underlying objective of this workshop is to help participants understand the dynamics of domestic and family violence in the context of victims age 50 and older who are in a trust relationship with the perpetrator. The workshop will compare how DV in Later Life compares with younger domestic violence or other types of elder abuse. It will review emerging research that challenges assumptions about victims, perpetrators and causes. Participants will consider implications for appropriate service delivery and prevention programming. This workshop is adaptable for 90 minutes to two hours in length.
