Safety Planning Training

  • Safety Planning Training

This 2-4 hour training presents the latest ideas related to safety planning for battered persons and their children. The facilitator will discuss the different types of safety plans, specific techniques for eliciting relevant information from survivors, how to assess batterer and life generated risks, and advocating from a woman-defined advocacy perspective.

  • Advanced Safety Planning Training

This 3-4 hour training addresses some of the barriers advocates face when assisting survivors who need services other than shelter. Issues addressed include identifying strategies to helping under served populations, safety planning using Woman-Defined Advocacy, recognizing re-victimizing behaviors by individuals and agencies, identifying non-traditional resources, and understanding consequences for survivors when they make changes to stay safe. This interactive training includes small group work and role plays.
