Purple Light Walk:Shine Your Light for the Fight Against Domestic Violence, Hamilton County

Friday, October 11, 2013, 05:30pm - 08:00pm

Women Helping Women, in collaboration with members of the YWCA of Greater Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Police Department, are excited to announce Cincinnati's first and only Purple Light Domestic Violence Awareness Month Walk.

The event is being held on the evening of October 11, 2013, starting and ending at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. The walk itself will loop about one mile through the up-and-coming Cincinnati Banks District. It will start with registration and a resource fair from 5:30PM-6:30PM, and a brief program and raffle will begin at 6:30PM. The walk will start at 7PM.

The event is completely free to all organizations and participants. Each walker will be provided with a purple glow stick to carry during the walk. Additionally, a limited supply of t-shirts will be given to the first 100 participants that register for the event. There will also be a free raffle prior to the start of the walk.

We hope that the 2013 Purple Light Walk will be the first of many. Please join us in taking part in the walk and help to light up the Cincinnati skies with the color purple and "Shine Your Light for the Fight Against Domestic Violence"!
