The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is a consumer protection agency in the U.S. to watch over and stop debt collectors who may do unfair business with you. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) does not allow debt collectors to:
- Use abusive, unfair or dishonest practices to collect money ($)
- Call you at work if you tell them to stop
- Call you before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m.
